Together with the Europlanet activity GMAP, various science cases dealing with the automatic detection and classification of planetary surface features will be studied.

The following GMAP science cases were proposed:

• Automatic detection and classification of mounds on Mars

• Identification of Mars ice caps layering from orbital imagery (optical and radar)

• Automatic identification of fractures and veins on Mars from rover's imagery data sets

• Landform classification and mapping using Machine Learning / Deep Learning on RAW and pre-processed data sets

• Mineralogy/geology mapping of terrestial bodies using Machine Learning / Deep Learning on RAW and pre-processed data sets
